Guess what, so far we have raised roughly about 90,000 Rs (1755USD)—
We have only a little more ways to go to meet our goal of 125,000 Rs (2384USD)
The money has been donated from friends and family across the globe. Sumaiya reached out to her friends, and I happened to be one of those friends. I reached out to mine and so far the response is tremendous.
I urge you all to help out please. Those who have pledged already, please transfer to my paypal account, as I will transfer to Sumaiya through HSBC and she will to the family. The reason we are doing this is to limit the Western Union transfer fees and get the most money to the family in need. We are ALMOST THERE GUYS—let’s make it happen!!!
I am keeping a detailed record of who is donating what and I promise I will send an email to everyone after the money is transferred and I will ensure Sumaiya sends me the receipts as well:)
With love to everyone
Thanks for all your help so far
please email me for further details email@example.com
Rayan is the 5 year old son of my friend Sumaiya Fuad Maqbool
Now Rayan, like most 5 years old is full of energy, imagination and as her mom would tell you, one who will keep you on your toes. His latest project is literally giving his momma bear a run for her money. He heard his nanny talking to other nannies at the park about the possibility of her daughter’s house’s roof collapsing on them. Now, this comes as no surprise to me that this kid is so full of empathy, and a desire to help someone (he is Sumaiya’s son afterall). After hearing the ordeal at the park, he came home and told him mom he wanted to help build the roof and he will start off by donating BD 25, which he was saving to buy his transformers bumble bee toy.
Sumaiya has reached out to all her friends and so far she has raised Rs. 50,000 towards the Rs. 125,000 goal to build the roof before monsoon season hits. She created an event on facebook to try and raise the money. I urge you all to help out. If Rayan can donate BD25, we all can donate $5, or $10. Western Union costs transfer fees if we all individually made transfers would chip away from the over all donation amount. So I propose that those who are local, can either give me the money or transfer via paypal and I will transfer the entire amount over to Sumaiya who will then send it to Western Union to the family. This way we pay transfer fees only once and get the most out of all the money that is collected.
You all have always helped me whenever I have brought an issue to your attention, I am hoping this time will be no exception. Let’s encourage Rayan and make him believe in the good in the world. In return, Rayan is going to write you all personalized thank you notes:) (which is why it is crucial that I know who all is donating, so I can send that info to Sumaiya and Rayan)
Sumaiya says: “So upon my 5 year olds request, I am asking if you would be interested in helping us raise money for this family? It will cost the family Indian Rs125,000 to built a brand new roof, and so far we have managed to collect Rs50,000. We are Rs75,000 short and are requesting people to please come forward and help us. Your donations will not only guarantee you loads of prayers from the family, but will also help me in raising a child who puts others needs before his.” Now that is a cause we can all rise up to help achieve
here is the event and all the details on this event page that Sumaiya created.
